Nantucket Style

Even though I’m a Massachusetts native, I’ve never been to Nantucket – at least not that I can remember! But that’s all about to change this Memorial Day weekend.

I’m slightly petrified because I’m staying in a house with like fifteen other ladies – some I’ve never met before – and going for Figawi – this huge, (drunk) boat race. It’s going to be an interesting weekend, but I’m mostly just really excited to see a new place for the first time.

To be honest, I was also really excited about shopping and packing for this trip. Nantucket style is so specific – so PREPPY – it’s been fun to think about how my style can translate. I wanted to find pieces that were on the preppy side, but still fit into what I would wear day to day. After just making a big purge of clothes from my closet, the last thing I wanted to do was fill it with things I wasn’t going to wear often again.

It was also a slight challenge because I’m going the last weekend in May – so not quite sun dress season. The nights will be chilly, and the days not that warm, so I had to find pants options t hat were unique, but something I’d still wear.
